Client Overview

Organization: Alliance to End Human Trafficking

Nonprofit Sector: Human Rights & Advocacy
Industry: Social Services

Founded in 2013 as the U.S. Catholic Sisters Against Human Trafficking (USCSAHT), the Alliance to End Human Trafficking (AEHT) is a collaborative, faith-based national network that offers education to combat exploitation, supports access to survivor services, and engages in advocacy to eradicate human trafficking. The Alliance to End Human Trafficking works to inform the public, prevent the assault on human dignity, and assist survivors to live fulfilling lives.

Challenges & Objectives

• AEHT needed a cleaner, bolder logo design that resonates with a younger adult audience but still captures the initial meaning and purpose behind their original logo.

• AEHT had a desire to spread their message to a younger audience (i.e., Gen Y and Millennials), build clarity and consistency in messaging across platforms, increase awareness through education, and grow their memberships and donations.

Solutions & Results

• A new website was designed for better usability, a contemporary look, easy access to resources (i.e., for members, survivors, advocacy, and donations), and secure communication portals for members and survivors.

• A marketing plan was developed with a primary goal of improving outreach efforts through a multi-channel strategy. The plan included social media advertising for specific fundraising campaigns, such as GivingTuesday and the Season of Giving, alongside general awareness initiatives. Email marketing was key for donor relations, distributing impact reports, making volunteer calls, organizing advocacy events, and sending donation appeals. Additionally, they expanded their presence at national conferences with educational materials, custom booklets, and expert panels. Lastly, a range of public awareness materials—including print, video, infographics, and digital assets—were created for broader education.

• Member and volunteer research around interests, conversions, demographics, psychographics, participation, and more.

• Ongoing training and consultation for organization leaders and staff.

• Results include higher social media engagement rates, reach, and follower growth among all audiences; higher website traffic, engagement, and conversions; increased brand awareness, conference participation, and increased donations.

From Logo Evolution to Organizational Rebranding for Wider Market Appeal

In 2016, the U.S. Catholic Sisters Against Human Trafficking wanted a new logo that kept the initial idea of growth beyond captivity, reflecting on the potential of every human being (the original logo is below-left and the new logo is to its right). The organization adopted a bolder, simpler, and more modern logo, and in 2023, they rebranded their organization name to Alliance to End Human Trafficking.

With a bold new look, the organization aimed to spread its message beyond its Catholic support system and reach a younger adult audience, including Millennials.
